Attention TVN A mother with four children has been fighting for an apartment for 10 years. Officials are soulless

- admits arletta raffelt –

Mrs Arleta's family occupies an apartment of less than 40 square meters in one of the tenement houses in Poznań.

When the woman moved in with her children, her eldest son Kuba was 9 years old, Nikodem 8 years old, Oliwia 5 years old and Emilia was 4 years old The family moved into the premises after being evicted.

Shortly after the move, Mrs Arleta's husband died in an accident.

– The children were so small that it seemed that this apartment would be enough for us That we'll be fine.

There was a bathroom that needed renovation, I knew what its condition was, but I agreed to it - admits Arletta Raffelt – After three months, I signed that we agreed to change this premises, because they said that they wanted to combine my premises with the premises of my neighbors.

I did not expect that 10 years would pass and I would continue to flourish here, because the neighbors received a flat to exchange after three months - she adds - The house has no facade.

Moisture passes through the bricks and there is a fungus The furnace is to be replaced.

It's going to hit our heads The mold on the walls goes behind the cupboards, so it is inevitable that children do not inhale it.

We have moisture absorbers that are supposed to last for a month, but they are not enough - says Ms Arleta in an interview with Uwawa! TVN.

"Lack of hot water is killing us" A woman supports her family on her own, working as a cleaner at the Poznań Fair The sons, who are still studying, have only recently been earning extra money - one in a pastry shop, the other as a delivery man.

“My kids are great They don't hold it against me because it happened the way it did.

Nobody knew that we would wait so many years for a new place They were happy to move out.

They planned everything, and it ended only in tears – recalls Arletta Raffelt There is a tiled coal stove in the social flat, but the woman does not use it because she uses electric heaters.

There is only cold water in the tap, after replacing the pipes, the pressure is too low to heat it in the gas heater - The lack of hot water is killing us.

Sometimes my brother comes, I come after work, my sisters after training and we have no place to take a bath - says Jakub – I have stopped crying, before I cried every time something had to be done – says Ms.

Arleta Attention! TVN: What do officials say? Officials of the Municipal Housing Resources Board in Poznań repeatedly proposed to the family to change the apartment.

According to Ms Arleta, the offers presented were not acceptable, because either they were premises with tenants, like Ms.

Arleta, waiting for a change, or for a major renovation – I could take the apartment for renovation, but there is a converter where you have to pay PLN 1,000 per square meter, i.

e if the apartment is 60 meters, I would have to take out a loan for PLN 60,000.

zloty I do not have such money and I will not have it – regrets Ms.

Arleta And he adds: - I have the impression that as long as I live in this hole, they will not give me an apartment, because no one will come for me there.

Health problems of children In the autumn of last year, painful boils appeared on the skin of three children of Ms Arleta.

When treatment with antibiotics did not help, Emilia and Nikodem were hospitalized "I'm sorry they've come down with the filth of boils, but there's nothing I can do about it.

" It's not my fault The fault is the conditions in which we are here - laments the woman.

"If a few children get these infections, it's not a coincidence that means that the conditions there are conducive to such infections.

Overcrowding and poor sanitation I can't imagine how you can deal with a disseminated skin disease without proper sanitary conditions - says prof.

Ernest Kuchar, pediatrician and infectious disease specialist "It's very painful, on a scale of one to ten, it's ten," says 14-year-old Emilia.

“I used to work as a food delivery guy and when I got sick, everything went up in smoke Now I will not be able to ride for a long time and it will be a bit harder to relieve my mother – adds Nikodem.

Ms Arleta wanted the children to stay in the hospital as long as possible, because she could not follow the doctor's orders.

“The doctor was terrified that we were in the same room The daughter was supposed to be in sterile conditions, but we told the doctor that we don't have a bathroom.

I heard, to change the apartment I explained that it is not a piece of cake, it is not that easy.

She said: "In that case, go to television" - Ms Arleta recalls.

“I think whoever manages it is to blame These are inhumane conditions, it takes too long - believes Nikodem.

Official: It's the mother who doesn't want an apartment A spokesperson for the company that manages municipal premises explained that Ms Arleta's financial situation makes it impossible to grant the family an apartment of a higher standard.

– We submitted 10 offers and all these offers were rejected by Ms Arleta – emphasizes Łukasz Kubiak, spokesman for the Municipal Housing Resources Board in Poznań.

– In 2019, there was an apartment that I rejected It was a basement, a cellar.

I would come out of the rain under the gutter There is moisture here, and there would be moisture there too.

There were wells under the windows and if they weren't cleaned, everything would pour into the house - describes Ms Arleta.

– I do not agree with the claim that it is an illusion of substitution Not every offer will be perfect, which is why there were as many as 10 of these offers - comments Łukasz Kubiak.

A request to the mayor for intervention It was only the children's illness that prompted Mrs Arleta to ask for the intervention of the mayor of the city of Poznań.

- As a city, we are not able to control every apartment, we entrust it to a company that deals with it - explains Katarzyna Kaszubowska, director of the housing office of the Poznań City Hall – I think that the company offered what it had at its disposal to Mrs.

Arleta The case is open and, to help this family, more premises will be sought, adds Kaszubowska.

Mrs Arleta's Daughters Train Volleyball

Their club has so far financed teenagers' membership fees as well as trips to training camps and sports camps The teenager's coach knew that the family's financial situation was difficult, but he did not expect that the problem with the apartment was so urgent.

“The girls are some of the most humble people I've ever met I think that there are very few people in the club and few players who know what their situation really looks like – says coach Mikołaj Adamowicz.

And he adds: - If there is a letter to change the apartment, I think that as a club and coaches we will join it Does Poznań really have no flat that would provide decent living conditions for the family? – I talked to people who deal with this and we treat this matter as a priority – declares Łukasz Kubiak.
